The SatoriAnalytics platform is based on advanced metering, analytics, and decision-making software that for over a decade have helped customers in Scandinavia transform their data center operations.
Normalized metering: The patent-pending capacity measurement metric, the Computing Resource Unit (CRU) supports dynamic monitoring of available and used computing capacity on physical servers and virtual pools/instances. The CRU normalizes capacity and provides an apples-to-apples comparison of capacity, usage, and cost efficiency across a wide range of server architectures. This abstraction and resource normalization enables IT and finance to accurately assess the true costs of IT infrastructure resources.
Energy efficiency analysis: The patent-pending energy analytics technology enables IT to assess energy costs based on normalized capacity and usage across a heterogeneous environment. This capability provides information on energy efficiency (Watt/CRU), cooling efficiency (BTU/CRU) and cooling efficiency per virtual machine (BTU/VM) that provides the foundation for utility-based energy accounting and financial impact analysis based on energy costs and CO2 emissions.
Cross-platform compatibility: The SatoriAnalytics platform supports the major physical and virtual computing platforms, providing a comprehensive cost and energy efficiency analysis.
Actionable deep analytics: Detailed monitoring of capacity, usage, and operating costs enables IT and financial executives to identify opportunity to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and align IT and business objectives.
SatoriAnalytics has a modular architecture that includes a collection layer, normalization layer, analytics, and reporting.
The collection layer collects capacity and usage data from the SatoriAnalytics agent to provide detailed information on capacity, utilization, and energy information. You can also leverage your existing third-party agents and data repositories as well as financial and cost information from business applications.
The analytics and normalization layer provides the application logic, a scalable data repository and benchmarks, and normalizes capacity resources. It also benchmarks capacity (CPU, memory, and I/O) and stores the data for analysis and reporting.
The reporting layer provides detailed reporting on energy and optimization as well as budget, IT cost allocation, chargeback, and billing.
